Proofing

A proof is simply a small version of the file, usually an 8 x 10 printed on the paper of your choice. If you have not worked with us before we recommend that you make a proof print to check color and resolution before printing your final. Of course if your print is going to be small the proof could be the final but if it's going to be big it is a good way to make sure the print is going to look the way you want it to..

We make two kinds of proofs:

  1. Proof for color simply ensures that the color of the print is correct

  2. Proof a section at actual size is a good way to make sure that the image will hold up at the final size and if you choose the section well you can also check the color. This is only recommended if you are pushing the resolution of a file.

8 x 10 proof for color reduced from
final size of 32" x 40"
8 x 10 proof with section at
final size of 32" x 40"
